"Human, After All"

Artist StatementThis self-portrait is the starting point of my series, Human, After All, and reflects what it feels like to be 21 in 2026. I wanted to capture myself in an ordinary, private moment, surrounded by the objects and routines that make up my everyday life. The work explores the comfort I find in being alone, while acknowledging the isolation that can exist within that comfort. At a time when connection feels constant and unavoidable, solitude has become a space where I can retreat, exist without expectation, and simply be with myself. This painting serves as a snapshot of who I am at this point in my life and begins the series from the most personal place I can, my own experience of being human.

More than just visual appeal

My work prioritizes ideas and meaning over mere visual appeal. While i may experiment with various artistic approaches, the core of this body of work remains centered on creative, emotionally driven, and story-based figurative paintings that delve into the profound depths of human experience.
